Garmin 3.5" 255w stopped working last week. It stuck on the map loading forever. Cannot use it for driving direction any more.
I hooked it up with usb cable to try to repair it, but my laptop would not recognize it. So, I twisted the cable end that connecting the GPS.
Voila, the GPS started to react to the laptop and the connection to GPS was recognized immediately. I was able to fix my GPS from loading map forever.
Uploaded the new map from Garmin Express and the GPS is as good as new.
